De Castelli Showroom / Interactive Space
De Castelli is one the leading metal companies that fuses craftsmanship and artisanal techniques with hi-tech industrial processes, leading to innovative and beautiful furniture products and architectural surfaces. At their new showroom in downtown Milan, visitors are welcomed by an immersive experience and unexpected interactions with this timeless and yet always surprising material. Two large dome-like surfaces at the showroom entrance are augmented through the use of transducers that transform the metal surface into a seamless sound emitters that engage users with a tactile interaction. By getting closer to the surface, visitors can experience the metal vibration and hear the sound of the De Castelli machinery at work blended with a music soundtrack to offer an alternative experience of the fascinating material production and factory operations.
